AMERICAN (Majors)
A level for the more experienced 9-12 year old boys and girls. You must play at least one year at the AAA level or National level before applying for American. Nine players play in the field, but THERE IS NO CONTINUOUS BATTING ORDER. Only the players in the line-up can hit. The minimum playing time is 2 innings defensively and 1 at bat for each player. Bunting and stealing home on a passed ball are allowed. Teams are determined by a draft based on players tryout ratings. Once a player is drafted to a team, he or she will remain with that team for the rest of their Little League Career.
NATIONAL (Minors)
A level for the more experienced 8-12 year old boys and girls. Teams are determined by a draft based on tryout ratings of independent evaluators. Games typically are played on Tuesdays and Saturdays at the Little League fields, and there is a continuous batting order. Following a draft in March, managers will contact selected players. 12 year olds are not allowed to pitch at the National League level.
AAA (Minors)
A competitive live pitching level for boys and girls between 7-10 years of age who do not have the experience to play the National or American level. Teams are determined by draft based on tryout ratings of independent evaluators. Games typically are played on Thursdays and Saturdays at the Little League Fields. Managers will contact selected players after the National and American teams have been formed.
AA (Coach Pitch)
A level established primarily for 6-8 year old boys and girls. Emphasis is on learning the fundamentals of baseball, excluding pitching. Games typically are played on Saturdays at the Little League Fields. Following a draft in March, managers will contact selected players. Teams are typically formed according to neighborhood residence and school attendance
T-BALL/A-BALL
T-Ball is an instructional program for 5 and 6 year old boys and girls. (Must be 5 years of age as of April 30, 2008.) New teams are formed each year by managers. A-Ball is a modified coach pitch for second year T-Ball players. Games typically are played on Saturdays at the Little League Fields. Managers will contact their assigned players. Teams are typically formed according to neighborhood residence and school attendance.
SOFTBALL
This program is designed for Little League girls of ages 7-12 (age determined as of December 31, 2007). Coach Pitch is for ages 7-8. Minors level places emphasis on learning the fundamentals, typically for ages 8-10. Majors level includes competitive play and live pitching, typically for ages 10-12. Player placement and teams are determined at the Spring Try Outs in March.
